An Award..from a man...

Well, I have a couple of fellers that read my blog. We all know Coffeeman and his antics and Bob from "The Ranch" out in South Dakota. I was SO tickeled to find out that Bob has given me an award!!

These are his words....
Here are the rules for this meaningful award:

The aims of this award:

* As a dedication for those who love blogging activity and love to encourage friendships through blogging.

* To seek the reasons why we all love blogging!

* Put the award in one post as soon as you receive it

* Don’t forget to mention the person who gives you the award.

* Answer the award’s question by writing the reason why you love blogging.

* Tag and distribute the award to as many people as you like.

* Don’t forget to notify the award receivers and put their links in your post.

The reason I love blogging - well there are 2 reasons. The friends I have made while blogging here are SO cherished. I cant even begin to explain the feelings I have had from being able to share my life with you all. There are so many of you who have sent me gifts - Karen D you are the BEST! - Willow Witch - those cards send me into histerics... I love you guys as true friends....except the guy that googled sleeping with the milk mans wife and came to my site to see what I had here.. yish - anyway - the second reason that I love bloggin is because I truely love farming and want to share with the world what it is REALLY like to be a farmer - a REAL farmer by my own definiation of course. Not a factory farm with 100's or 1000's of dairy cows - nor a huge grain farmer running 10,000 acres and hireing all of his work done and never breaking a sweat nor a ranch/farm that has so much other income that they dont have to be in agriculture to make a living... I want nothing more than to share everything that I can with you so that you know and understand how life really is on a family farm a TRUE family farm. One that is run by family, not hired help.... One person said to me a short time ago that I must want people to feel sorry for me because of the way I write... not even close buddy. I choose the life I live and even if I complain or feel passionate about somthing or angry for that matter - I dont want your sympathy, I want your understanding - nothing more. SO with that out in the open, does anyone want to learn about what I call a kitchen garden? Does anyone else out there have one or call what they have one?... did that make sense..
Now for those who are tagged...

Suzanne the farmers wife

Horsefeathers - Mrs. Mom my sistah from anotha motha!

Karen Deborah - Fresh Fixins

Peggy from Hidden Haven

Domestic Diva - go for it baby!!
Oh - Thanks again Your a true asset to the ag community and I LOVE to read your blog!!!

Writing to make people feel sorry for you? Good grief charlie brown, talking about a clean miss. Heck I get down right jealous of all that country livin not to mention those very fine little boys and 2 funny big uns. Little Milk Dud is growing up wayyyyy to fast!
Yep I have a kitchen garden and then I put more and more flowers into it and well then it turned into a flower and herb garden and now it's almost all flowers. BUT the new one is big and it's almost all veggies.

thank you for the award luvins

Thank you so much!!! I feel honored because I'm in such good company. Heidi - your enthusiasm is refreshing and infectious. It's so wonderful to see two people so in love - with each other, with their family and with their farming way of life.

People seriously need to get off that east/west track across the country and take a little jog up in to Wisconsin to see what it's all about. Have I mentioned that I love Wisconsin? l

I feel second best because I don't think I have any men reading my blog. Coffeeman, can you please pop over and give me a read? HA!

Thanks again Heidi. I'll be e-mailing you about my next foray into the land of milk and cheese.

- Suzanne

Awww Heidi- thanks Baby. You rock girl. Totally.

Yes, I want to see your kitchen garden!!! I'll even show you mine~ hehe

There are too many reasons to list why I love your blog, and obviously, someone did not understand the journey you guys are on, if they left a comment like that. Seeking sympathy? Bah-- you know what they say: sympathy is in the dictionary between sh*t and syphilis. ;) We choose lives like we do because we're called to it. Not because we want to have something to solicit sympathies from others. ;)

Now go kiss those sweet babies from me. I'll catch ya later on with an update on Johnny Reb. Love you Heidi!!!

I love your blog because I grew up on a family-operated farm and you tell it like it is. There's many years that I'm really not sure, looking back, how my parents made ends meet year after year. I do know it's the most wonderful life a kid can have, even if they don't realize it yet.

My sister now farms our place, and I envision that her son, and then her grandson, will one day be doing the same. At least I hope that's how it turns out!

what a neat little award! how cool :)

I love reading about all the farm life you write about. I miss it SOOO much!

so now I get to send it to a few people? I am having myself a blonde day...okay, okay, blonde month. So point me in the right direction :)

Oh, and for you and Karen special, I have a new background. I thought it made the pictures look better, but everyone seems to agree, it makes it hard to read. I'm not good at layouts and such, so I use the pre done ones blogger offers. Let me know if the new one is a bit easier on the eyes :D

I feel so silly, I forgot to ask, what's a kitchen garden? See, I am blonde today..

Hi hun,
You deserve the love, awards, cards etc..You are a lovely lady and I LOVE to read about the things that you care passionately about :) Don't change!

Would love to know about your kitchen garden. I have a small piece of land that we rent from the government (called an allottie)..It is small but we grow veggies, fruit etc on it.
Love, Light & Blessings,

Sue :)

Hola! What is a Kitchen Garden? Does it grow without weeds? he he
I am getting ready to plant my garden this weekend. Congratulations on your award. And you know I love your blog! Feel sorry for you? Bwahahahaha who wrote that?

From my youth ... a kitchen garden is on the south side of the house ... just outside my grandmother's kitchen door ... where she grew vegetables, herbs, rhubarb, and raspberries. All wonderful things to cook and feed her family. It was in the neighborhood of 1/8th an acre.

We had one just south of our house, but we had to take the long way out the fence and around the yard to get to it. The SW corner was the apple orchard ... and I can tell you from experience, that eating little green apples will result in tummy aches.

I know exactly what you mean about blogging and I love everything that you write about a true farm family. I grew up on a farm in Idaho and I miss it so much. You give me a taste of it nearly every day. I can almost smell the cow sh*t!

(Thanks for stopping by my blog.)
