Please help me....

Ladies, I have been over run... At this moment I am under a pile of laundry with just my arm sticking out, waving a white flag... Honestly, I have lost my mind and I am looking for it. Not sure if I put it in the fridge, microwave, washing machine, dryer or hung it on the cloths line. In honesty, I have been *gulp* lazy... yes I said lazy!! Ok, so I am lying... The weather is cold, 29 this morning and the cold weather requires a diffearnt set of chores for me. Its called 'stoking the stove'. At least 2 times per night I have to get up and 'stoke', which means to put wood into - our wood stove. This stove is what heats our home and helps to dry our cloths on my indoor clothsline in the basement. I am the 'stove keeper' because when the Milk Man stokes the stove, it turns in to a raging inferno in here. In other words its hotter than blazes in the house and my hot flashs make me want to burst into flames!! literaly.... I like to keep the fire in our stove at an even 'burn' so that the house stays the same temp during the day and a bit cooler at night. I really think that a little bit of cool air is GOOD for sleeping and healthier than to warm. People who keep thier houses so warm in the winter that they can wear shorts disturb me. These are the same people who wear shorts in the summer and run the air conditioner. Its all the same cold aint it?!?!?! Anyway - we are in the process of cutting more wood, so I have been cooking extra food, piling wood, nursing Milk Dud extra because he is getting thin.... 18lbs worth of thin and he wont be 3 months till Thursday....

See what I mean, he is nearly gant from lack of food - insert eye roll here -.

I have never seen a baby want to eat so much in my life. He wants 'titty' ALL THE TIME! I would'nt mind if this would help my weight issue, but it just makes me want to eat MORE!! I have enough milk to supply Ethiopia and maybe a couple other small countrys. Milk Man was wondering what my butterfat content was because they have an open stall in the barn..... he lives on the edge people, daring to do things or say things normal men never will... and live..

Co-sleeping...... and a Tag....

I dont know how many of you are the 'hippie' type and I say that with great admiration. Hippies are cool, I dont always agree with them, but they have some great ideas. On the matter of co-sleeping I want to thank every hippie in a 50 mile radius for giving me the oportunity to completly fall hours short of a good nights rest..... THANK YOU! I dont call it co-sleeping, no sir ree... in the house its called - Co-move over-stop snoring-stop breathing so loud-dont kick-your breath stinks-did you just fart-dont take so many covers-dont grind your teeth, stop knashing your teeth - did you fart - your toe nails are sharp - stop moving - dont giggle - how is this funny-no I wont get out of bed I was here first- stop picking your toes - blow your nose for Gods sake - now you have to pee non-sleeping... yup that about covers it. On any given day there are 5 of us in our bed - The Milk Man gets half the bed of course while the other 4 of us cram our bodys into ever nook and cranny that we can find. Lispy, he is the smart one - he figured out if he sleeps UNDER Milk Dud, he has the most room - smart fart. So Big Son and I try to squish ourselves in to about a 18 inch slice of the bed. It ends up with my arm around him so he doesnt fall off. How is this a posotive thing - I ask you?!?!??!

These two pictures were taken the other morning, but it could be ANY morning in our house - Big Son is not in the picture because he bailed when he saw the camera coming, he was in his undies again. He's getting wise to my ways....
In truth, I love to sleep with all of us in the same bed. Its great birth control and I love to be able to smooch Milk Dud, give Big Son a squeeze and play footsie with Lispy at any given time!! How many of you let your kids sleep with ya or do you make them sleep in thier own beds. They start out in their own, but before the end of the night - well, you understand.

Now for the important stuff!! I have been Ghosted!!!! My Sista from Anotha Motha - Mrs. Mom - ghosted me. I have to admit, I dont like scary stuff. I never have!! yes call me yeller, cuz I am yeller all the way to my toes..... I dont like scary Halloween costumes or decorations but I do like the cute stuff. ANYWAY - I have to put up a picture and ghost 3 more people, and seed sweets or at least ask to send them somthing... so here is my picture.

Doesnt she look like she is there, yet maybe she's not? We went to a civil war thingy for my birthday and it was SO much fun....

Now for the three I am ghosting....

1. At Home with the Farmers Wife,http://www.athomewiththefarmerswife.blogspot.com/ is the most encouraging person I can think of. I love her blog and love that she was from my home state! She helped me to really want to be a 'blogger'. SO thank you Suzanne!

2. Bayou Woman -http://bayouwoman.wordpress.com/ This lady is the most dedicated person I can think of. She loves her bayou and will do just about anything to be able to continue her way of life there. She is a soul sister to me, because both of our lifestyles are going extinct and that would be a tragedy!

3. Girl on the Chesapeke Bay -http://marphilback.blogspot.com/ she has a quick wit about her that I find comerodry with. She has a great eye for pictures and I envy her for that... in a good way!

SO there you go - now you must post a ghosty picture and offer to send sweet treats to your tagged bloggers.... SO you girls want me to send you somthing sweet? It would be my pleasure, let me know in the comments ok!!

My brother Bubby....

I am the oldest of 5 kids. I have a sister that passed away when I was 5 and she was 1 1/2. She had a heart condition and in the early to mid 70's, those things were usually fatal. Then I have a brother that is 6 years younger than me - he is the one that lost his best friend. My other sister is 13 years younger than I am and Bubby is 16 years younger than I am. Yes, we have the same mother and dad - they just wanted to continue haveing kids I guess!!

Today I am writing about Bubby - no that is not his real name, he just happens to be a 'Bubby'. He is GREAT with my boys and babysat Lispy when I was working for the zoo - not to be confused with the zoo that I live in by any means. The zoo I worked in, not lived in, was clean, tidy, pleasant, you know normal kind of.... Anyway- Bubby. Bubby was a skinny, puny, little feller that we thought would never put on a single pound. He was SO little that he was behind in the size cloths he should wear for his age. Well, he has definatly cought up - and then some...

Bubby is a funny feller. If there is a joke to be made, he can make it. A few weeks ago the Milk Man, my folks, my brother, my uncle, my cousin and another couple from my dad's work all took a ride on our cycles. Milk Dud came along in the 'suport vehicle' that was my dads truck. My cousins girlfriend, who is also my cousin - long story that I will explain someday - there is NO BLOOD RELATION - anyway, she was pregnant, (man this sounds so BAD) and could not ride on the bike with my other cousin.... this is going from bad to worse. For those of you who are wondering, yes we have all of our front teeth - we are not THAT hillbilly-ish! ANYWAY - My mom and girl cousin took Milk Dud and Lispy in the truck with them so I could ride my cycle. Man, did we have a frigin blast! Bubby's ride is a 2001 Harley Davidson 883 sportster with a 1200 bore Buell kit in it. He is SO big for that bike. He looks like he is trying to ride a small dog. He is about 6 3 and 260... he is big!
We went down along the Mississippi river because the leaves are getting to be gorgeous! The picture is of a look out that we stopped at. It was a beautiful drive. On the way home we took another path. Bubby and I were riding close together when we came upon a HUGE pumpkin stand with the giant pumpkins on them. He pulls up next to me and yells' 'Sis, did you see the size of them there punkins I'd like to take a couple home' - yes, he talks like a hillbilly. I told him that I had and commented that they were rather large and somthing about them not fitting in our saddle bags...and we continued our ride. About 5 minutes later a bike comes from the other direction with a guy and gal on it. This chick was 'stacked' if you know what I mean, and she was only wearing enough on the top to cover the ends. Needless to say, Bubby was next to my bike in a heart beat yelling at the top of his lungs ' DID YOU SEE THE SIZE OF THEM THERE PUNKINS? I COULD FIT THEM IN MY SADDLE BAGS!!!'........ I shook my head.... Bubby is a great guy and a punkin lover....

Aliens have taken over the cats.....

A couple of weeks ago Big Son was outside doing our daily 'kitty check' when he came in with one of the older kittens. I was finally sitting down, drinking juice, listening to Trace Adkins while a certain Milk Dud snacked.... when he bounded through the door like he was on fire, dragging the cat with him, yelling at the top of his lungs. Its times like this that I wish I were deaf, mute, blind and sleeping all at once. He has the cat by the 'scruff ' of her neck telling me somthing is crawling out of her back, through the skin - think Alien here people - so needless to say I yelled for him to take it back OUTSIDE! What is the insatiable need to bring everything into the house??? This has alwasy puzzled me, but thats a differant post - I am going to stay on task with this story and I mean it - really I do. OK - So he takes the cat back out, I cut Milk Duds snack time down and he is NOT happy about it. I leave Lispy in charge of Milk Dud, I was desperate ok, and tear outside to see if the cat has changed into a flesh eating morphadite of some sort. Big Son had him in his lap, waiting for me to come assess the 'Alien'. When I held the cat I tried to look at whatever this thing was and realized it looked like a 'bot' fly that the cows get. I have NEVER in all my days seen anything like that on a cat. To describe a 'bot' fly larve is nothing short of seeing the movie Alien. This is what happens.. I fly lays and egg under the skin of a cow or cat I guess and a larve WORM grows under the skin until it is mature enough to break out. On the cows, we squeeze them out like popping a pimple. They are not good for cattle or cats because they are parisite and can carry disease. Anyway - I did not get pictures of the 'before' we squeezed it out, but got some of the after - hold your breath... This is the hole it left in the cats back after I squeezed it out... And this is what was in that hole... Pretty freakin gross huh! The bad thing is, that the hole in the cats back was about the size of a quarter and 1/2 inch DEEP! This worm was about an 1 inch around and 2incs long.I could see her shoulder blade muscles move, now thats deep. I called the vet, his son is Big Sons best friend and asked Bruce what the heck was going on with this cat. He then proceded to tell me that this year was BAD for this type of fly. He had only seen one before but of course and read about them. The first one that he saw was on a 6 week old kitten that a lady brought in to him - it had so many of them that it died. Anyway, there is no vacine you can give these cats for this, nor a colar that they can wear to ward the flys off of them like you would ticks or fleas. I felt bad because last week Big Son came to me with the same cat and said "Mamma, I think Buck, my brother in laws dog, may have bit this cat" When I looked at his back there was a hole half the size of the one this worm made. It looked like it could have been a bite, but I think it was another one of these frigin Alien worm thingys. We gave her a shot of penecilian and washed the wound with salty water a couple of times per day. Its fine now, but Bruce said that we should watch for more of them...great.
In other news here is a picture of Lispy on his new Trike and his cake.

Here is the cake I made and attempted to 'decorate' if you can call it that!!!

I have on more cat post, but I am going to save it for tommorow - its about our little kitten. His name is Tiny Timmy.....

Where Have I been.....

Oh my friends, life is great isnt it! The farm, garden, children, yard, house and cats have taken over - send help...... *insert cricket sounds*

In complete honesty, my life is just always a race. People tend to think that living in the country is 'all that' - truth be told it really is BUT I think its also the buisiest place to live. Now I know some will argue that its serene - it is... and I love it. So here is what I have been doing - on Wednesday Lispy turned 4. I made his cake and tried my hand at decorating it 'nicely' - what? you think your going to see pictures of it? BWWWWAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH - ya right... We bought him a heavy duty trike and he loves it beyond belief! He rode is so much that he came in the house and ASKED to take a nap *insert heavenly choir sounds here* can you believe that!! He also woke up in the middle of the night with leg cramps from riding it all day. I spent the night either rubbing his legs or having my titty exposed for Milk Dud - or doing both at the same time - seriously I did..... Yesterday, I made pear butter, tomato juice and today I am going to tackle apple butter/apple juice. It's also my birthday today - I am celebrating the 7th anniversary of my 29th birthday.... for those of you who are math challenged like myself, I am 36. This is where I faint - let me get to the couch..... ****thud***

ANYWAY!! I had a couple of people ask me what we do with Hopes kittens. On the farm we need to have a few around. We usually keep about 10 because they dont all live to be old, thats reality. However, we do have an old female that is 13 and in good health. We have allowed Hope to be bred because we needed some 'new blood' in the barn. We have 3 farms, 3 barns and other sheds to keep mouse free so that takes cats - more than just a couple. When the females come into heat and we dont want anymore kittens at that time, we lock them in our feed room and feed them, water them and love on em during their confinement. The kittens that Hope just had, will be weaned and she will be feeling better soon. These kittens are going to be take to the farm with our beef cattle on it. I must explain why some dont live to be old. Vehicles, stray toms and cattle will be the cause's of death. We had a 'ma cat' that was hunting in the hayfield, we did not know she was there. When your sitting on a tractor, running a noisy haybine - you cant see an animal crouched in the long hay. She ended up having her back legs severed at the 'knee'. Even though she had been hurt by the haybind - my father in law was driving - we didnt know it until she came to the barn, drug herself, and was trying to feed her kittens. They were only a few days old. Needless to say, the vet came out and took a look at her. He said that she could not be saved, she had no chance and neither did her babies. I know that sounds cruel and in human, but she was put down lovingly - she was cared for. I could not feed her babies for her, so the were also put down. Its my hope that you guys dont feel that we are cruel or uncaring, because that is not the truth. We care very much for our animals because they have a purpose and a function - because they are Gods creatures and he has left it up to us to care for them. We have had a couple of the females fixed as they have gotten older, but when a cat is fixed - its seems - they loose the desire to hunt. We 'fix' our toms ourselves by putting a castrating ring on his 'marbles'. Its a type of rubber band that slowly diminishs the blood suply to his 'marbles' and they dry up and fall off.....I think I just heard the one guy who reads my blog pass out.... ANYWAY ... I hope that kind of clears up the cat thingy. It makes me happy to know that people like Miss Nancy, will take EXCELLENT care and give TONS of love to her animals. Those kitties are lucky and spoiled!!

SO - now I have been tagged by my 'Sista from Anotha Motha' - Mrs. Mom....

1. What were you doing 10 years ago...
I had a 2 month old baby - Milk Dud and Big Son are only 10 days aprt from being 10 years to the day apart. So I was working full time, had a baby and was milking morning and night. We had just moved into our home from my inlaws upstairs.....

2. 5 things on my to do list for the day...
1. Enjoy my birthday...
2. Clean up the mudroom..
3. Try not to beat the children into submision.....
4. Make sure that I give my boys enough love, after I beat them into submision...
5. Finish my pear butter, tomato juice, help Milk Man with feeding some new calves, take the boys to the library and tie them up there...... wait, they told me I couldnt do that anymore...

3.What is your favorite snack...

Baby toes...

4. If I were a millionaire..

The first thing I would do is give my church enough to put into a savings/cd and to be able to operate on just the interest every month. Then the donations could go toward our missionarys. Then I would take a few thousand - say 50-100,000 and give it to a family that drills wells in Africa for villiges that have no running water. It costs' $1000 per well so that would take care of a few. I cant imagine haveing a baby in a dirt shack and no clean water to wash my child or myself in after giving birth..... Then I would build homes for my family and put $$ away for retirement.

5. Places I have lived...

I have lived in 2 places in my life - they are within 30 miles of each other... any questions!

6. Tag 5 people to do this...

Train Wreck
The farmers wife
Goat girl
Fresh Fixins
The Coffee Man

I am going to post later today, hopefully about Lispy's birthday - I have video and yes he is dressed!!!

Where Have I been.....
