Auntie Karen at Fresh Fixins this is for you - and everyone else....

Good Morning everyone! Yesterday was a very long day. I spent most of Friday and Saturday cooking my eyes out for Milk Dud's baptism. I wanted to save somthing special that Karen sent to Milk Dud for this day, because it will be a family heirloom from now on. She sent Milk Dud a BEAUTIFUL little sweater and he wore it yesterday before and after his baptism. Here is a picture of it!

Isnt it the most darling thing you have ever seen??? It is so special to me - I dont buy much new stuff. Not only because its expensive, but I try to not have 'to much'. I have found in my own life if I have an excess of 'things' I live in excess and that is not how I want to live.... geeeez where did that come from? *blank stare*
Anyway - I LOVE IT KAREN!!! Thank you!!!

So here are some pictures of the baptismal gown. I have had this since Big Son was born and he is 10 - all of our boys have been baptized in it. It was hand made by a special lady and it is a true treasure. She made the cap and booties too - it took her hours and she gave it to me as a birthday gift. I cryed, at work - I almost was wailing - really - almost. I did sob for joy... really I did - snot on the end of my nose and everything.

He is such a little bugger... I love his gums, unless he is being a 'titty biter'... He loves to bite lately, of course while he is nursing..

Tomorow I have another beautiful gift that was sent by a special gal too - it is just for me and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

I have somthing to run by all of you. I am thinking about getting my own domain and haveing someone 'do' my blog. I am a techno idiot so I cant do it myself. I know it can be spendy, but as Sue from Chickens in the road said - do a little at a time as you can afford it. Anyone got any ideas or thoughts as if I should or shouldnt? Do I write/tell storys well enough to warrent the cost of me doing it? I love to share my life with all of you, but there are SO many things I want to post about that I would be posting 3 times per day!! LOL I have posts written about my cooking, sewing, cleaning, laundry etc - but I dont know if anyone would read it 3 times per day! The Milk Man is really pushing me to do what I want and spend a little to see where it goes. Typical famer, always optomistic about everything! Me, I am a bit more cautious I guess... SO I am going to be completly free and let you decide what I do - so hash it out and let me know?!?!? OK!!

Anyway - I have to go and scrape frosting off of Lispys shoe's - dont ask.....

Here is a shot that I promised The farmers wife Suzanne. Its of the Milk Man in an apron....

OH, you thought it was going to be of him in ONLY an apron - dont I wish.... He has on more clothing than Imelda Marcos had shoes - dang it.

Heidi I am like you. I want my own site but shy about leaving blogspot that I am comfortable with. I have a website that I pay a few bucks a month for but have no idea what or how to do with. If you know someone good to recommend to keep a site up I would love to have their name so they could do something with my site. Would be glad to pay.

I don't know anything about setting up a Goggle website Heidi but I was looking around the other day. Just wonder if any of the bloggers would know how to set up a FREE website, and is there such a thing as a FREE site.

I'm definetly interested in a website too but it has to be very affordable and very user friendly. I maintain one here at work but it's no fun like working with the blog, it's so easy. I want a website that is just as easy as the blog. How is it that our blogs are free? I'm fairly new at it obviously.

One question about the blogging to anyone - is there a way to add photo's in the order 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
instead of 5, 4, 3, 2, 1? and inserting photo's where ever you like?

Joanna I agree the 5 4 3 2 1 thing drives me to drink.

Mr. Milkman, your little Milk Dud is so darn cute in his sweater!
I love and cherish all the homemade gifts I got as gifts for my kids.

my word verif is :: flaws
How did they know I have flaws?

Ya know one of the reasons I am so hesitant - other than the money - I dont want anyone to get the idea that I think I am 'all that' to blogging... Ya know what I mean?? I dont want anyone to think I am being 'upity'...is that a word!?!?! LOL

You know, I think having someone 'do' a website would really take some of the flavor away. Your blog is you! That is part of the charm. If I were you, I would continue to use blogger and save your dough! BTW, I read several blogs that post multiple times a day.

Part2 - I'm new to blogging and I really enjoy it but Mike and I also need a webpage. I went to WEEBLY and messed around just for a few minutes and I got published for free. This was waaay to easy. what do ya think is the catch?

Save your money, this blog home is wonderful! You are a country girl with your stories about you and rendering lard and luvin your family. We like you just like this! don't put on any fancy airs for us!
Actually the sweater was a fabulous bargain, an irresistible bargain. And it was so beautifully made had to get it for the little sweet cheeks. that baptismal gown is incredible what a heirloom that is!

You gotta love a man in an apron!!! Thanks for posting the photo. I don't have my own domain and I'm in prehistoric times when it comes to anything "techno". I did have someone to my blog design. Shannon at Eight Crazy Design did mine. If you look on my sidebart you'll see her logo and link. She has some premade designs that are very affordable, or she can design to your specifications. I don't know a thing about having my own domain. Seems complicated and expensive to me, but what do I know?

P.S. The sweater is soooo cute and so is Milk Dud. It's wonderful that all the kids have worn the same baptismal gown.

I have been reading your Blog for some time but not commenting. I needed too today. Do you read Confessions of a Pioneer Woman if not go to it and I bet you will get an idea of the popularity of blogs like yours. I say go for it. I might not read it 3 times a day but once three times.
Jim on the side, enjoying.

Ya did it now Heidi. Seriously. I was adoring the photos of Milk Dud, and that lovely baby smile, when Dear Husband walked by... peered over my shoulder, and said, ..."Awwww! What a sweet little baby! He is just adorable!" And went on his way...

Yep. Skills. Milk Dud's got 'em! ;)

OK- the blog stuff. IMO- keep it as it is now. Post whatever your little heart desires. Post as often as you can, and you know what? I for one would be here three times a day to read you! ;)

We love ya Heidi, and all those beautiful kids too!! Kisses to them all, from ALL of us here!

Heidi, I have been reading your blog for a couple of months now and really enjoy it. I have set up websites for people, and there are pros and cons to this. First, with a website, you could set up photo albums. Also, if you make or sell things you could have a store right on your site. The down side is it could get expensive having someone update your site every day. Now, with your blog, it is FREE!! That's always a good thing. You can post as often as you want. The thing I like about blogs is that I can add it to my google reader. I just check it each evening and all blogs that have been updated since I last checked pop up for me to read. Relaxing with a cup of coffee and reading blogs has been my favorite way to spend an evening. Another plus, blogs can be converted to books! You could convert your blogs into books that can be kept for the kids to read when they grow up. Just my thoughts!

Heidi, I love that sweater! And that Christening gown is so beautiful, it is a real treasure!
Photos are easily added to any blog I know the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, thing is annoying but they are easily moved within your post. I have a blog locally that will only allow me to load one photo at a time.
I think it is time for you to spread your wings. You are feeling cramped. Well have several blogs then, you can have a few not sure how many here on blogger. Have one for cooking, one for family..etc..lots of people set up stuff in their side bars for sale. As long as you are Ok with your email address out there.
Muddy Boots Dreams sells her cards, check it out the link is on my page. I run two blogs, and will be starting two more after the first of the year..one on home and crafts, and another on Trigeminal Neuralgia. There are lots of different templates you can use for different looks. I think people will come to your site just to read about you no matter if you have a fancy expensive website or not. You have a comfy great look now!
Glad you are done cooking your eyes out! :)

Hi Heidi!

My gosh, your little guy has grown so much since I last visited! He is toooooo cute!!! Loved all the pics...the darling little sweater, and that christening gown set is a true treasure! And that naked man in the shower with little Milk Dud looks like a true treasure, too! LOL

And you're riding a motorcycle now? You are braver than me!!! But then I am getting older now, and older folks know they can't handle things like that anymore.

Hope you are getting ready for Christmas for your family. I still have a few more things to buy, but it is raining here today and to rain again tomorrow, so I am staying in today! I have enough work here on my jobs to keep me busy, that's for sure!

Do as you like with your blog, but there is nothing wrong with this one. We all love you one way or the other! I want to learn how to add a photo across the top of mine. I printed off some directions one day from a comment on another blog on how to do that, but now I don't know which folder I put them in! I do remember he said to choose a new template with a STRETCH thing across the top so you could stretch the photo to a certain size...and he stated the size of pixels to use even! He is a professional photographer and knows what he is talking about. I just have to find those instructions that I printed off that day! When I do, I will email them to you. I was going to practice on a NEW blog that once learned how to do it, then I could just delete that blog...without messing with my blog and messing it all up. LOL

I don't know how I missed your blog for so long! I try to read other blogs by the comments that have been posted on mine....with working these 2 jobs, I just had to start doing it that way. There for a while I was reading them all from the top down, and by the time I got to the bottom, I was so far behind all over again. Then some lady emailed me and suggested I just read those who have left me comments. So that's how I've been doing it. I was tiring myself out staying up all night reading blogs. LOL Join my followers on the sidebar of my blog at the very top and that will remind me to visit you regularly.

Geez, it is pouring out there right now!!! Wish it was snow instead, though!

Stay warm and I am happy that you dropped by! I'll be back when I read blogs again. Be sure to join my followers so I don't miss you again!!!

Love ya! and (((((( HUGS ))))))
Nancy

I've been checking out your blog for a little while now and I say go for it...Get your own domain name even if it's just thorough blogger....It's probably cheaper than most other sites....I know of a really nice blog designer who might be able to help you out if your looking to give your blog a facelift too....http://nwdesigns.blogspot.com/...She did my wordpress blog before I moved back to blogger. I've now added you to my list of blogs that I visit on a regular basis (before I was visiting via TW's blog).

you've been tagged and have an award too if you can get a break from that darling little titty baby you go there.

I'm anxiously awaiting your decision! When I decided that I might (one day) like to market BHE products, I bought the rights to BHE.com. That is as far as I have gotten with that:) I am technologically challenged.

I met another blogger this past weekend who has branded her blog name, and created quite a little cottage industry...and then some. We hope to get her to our VA Blogger gathering that is in the works. Wanna join us?

Heidi, first of all, I want to tell you your kids are beautiful! Regarding your question about ads, do you plan to sell space yourself, or use Google's AdSense? If you sell the ads yourself, you could change your blog layout and post the ads with links in the sidebar. Google's AdSense generates ads based on your blog content. I'm not sure how it works, but you would not have any of your money involved, you just sign up and their computers generate the ads. I have seen this on other blogs, if I come across one I will send you a link.

The reason most of us change blog formats is to go pro---meaning commercial where the page is dotted with ad space. You make money when folks click on the ads. However, there are degrees of web help you can get. You can get your own name, get it directed to a blog, pay someone to design that blog, and you can still maintain it on a daily basis. It's all about going pro. Some think that takes the fun out and raises the pressure level. It won't change your current charm or readability---just what you are aiming for with your blog. When daily visits exceed several hundred on a regular basis, you might want to go pro. JMHO! Good luck, whatever you decide!
