I dont know how many of you are the 'hippie' type and I say that with great admiration. Hippies are cool, I dont always agree with them, but they have some great ideas. On the matter of co-sleeping I want to thank every hippie in a 50 mile radius for giving me the oportunity to completly fall hours short of a good nights rest..... THANK YOU! I dont call it co-sleeping, no sir ree... in the house its called - Co-move over-stop snoring-stop breathing so loud-dont kick-your breath stinks-did you just fart-dont take so many covers-dont grind your teeth, stop knashing your teeth - did you fart - your toe nails are sharp - stop moving - dont giggle - how is this funny-no I wont get out of bed I was here first- stop picking your toes - blow your nose for Gods sake - now you have to pee non-sleeping... yup that about covers it. On any given day there are 5 of us in our bed - The Milk Man gets half the bed of course while the other 4 of us cram our bodys into ever nook and cranny that we can find. Lispy, he is the smart one - he figured out if he sleeps UNDER Milk Dud, he has the most room - smart fart. So Big Son and I try to squish ourselves in to about a 18 inch slice of the bed. It ends up with my arm around him so he doesnt fall off. How is this a posotive thing - I ask you?!?!??!
These two pictures were taken the other morning, but it could be ANY morning in our house - Big Son is not in the picture because he bailed when he saw the camera coming, he was in his undies again. He's getting wise to my ways....
In truth, I love to sleep with all of us in the same bed. Its great birth control and I love to be able to smooch Milk Dud, give Big Son a squeeze and play footsie with Lispy at any given time!! How many of you let your kids sleep with ya or do you make them sleep in thier own beds. They start out in their own, but before the end of the night - well, you understand.
Now for the important stuff!! I have been Ghosted!!!! My Sista from Anotha Motha - Mrs. Mom - ghosted me. I have to admit, I dont like scary stuff. I never have!! yes call me yeller, cuz I am yeller all the way to my toes..... I dont like scary Halloween costumes or decorations but I do like the cute stuff. ANYWAY - I have to put up a picture and ghost 3 more people, and seed sweets or at least ask to send them somthing... so here is my picture.
Doesnt she look like she is there, yet maybe she's not? We went to a civil war thingy for my birthday and it was SO much fun....
Now for the three I am ghosting....
1. At Home with the Farmers Wife,http://www.athomewiththefarmerswife.blogspot.com/ is the most encouraging person I can think of. I love her blog and love that she was from my home state! She helped me to really want to be a 'blogger'. SO thank you Suzanne!
2. Bayou Woman -http://bayouwoman.wordpress.com/ This lady is the most dedicated person I can think of. She loves her bayou and will do just about anything to be able to continue her way of life there. She is a soul sister to me, because both of our lifestyles are going extinct and that would be a tragedy!
3. Girl on the Chesapeke Bay -http://marphilback.blogspot.com/ she has a quick wit about her that I find comerodry with. She has a great eye for pictures and I envy her for that... in a good way!
SO there you go - now you must post a ghosty picture and offer to send sweet treats to your tagged bloggers.... SO you girls want me to send you somthing sweet? It would be my pleasure, let me know in the comments ok!!
p.s. sure hope those frigin links work.... i am a techno retard my boys tell me.....
HEIDIIII!!! I miss you girl!!
ReplyDeleteWrecker starts out in his own bed, but winds up with me somewhere usually around 1AM. I have given up putting him back in his own bed. Even though both boys sleep in our room, Cub stays put. Once he is out, he is down for the count. His bed is on Dear Husband's side of the bed, Wrecker's is on mine. And after last night, I just put Wrecker right to bed next to me. Probably will for the next few nights.
Do I get much sleep? Heck no. But i got LESS sleep when they were at the other end of the house in their own room. I was constantly checking on them, worried sick. Most nights Wrecker gets comfy and we are both passed out pretty well. So it all works in the long run.
Bet you'll be glad when this month is over, and I stop with the ghost stories over there huh? Dont worry next month is a Thankful Month!! ;) Gonna be a good one!!
Love ya Heidi. Kiss those babies from Auntie Mrs MoM!!!!!
THat is so sweet of you...thanks...awwww, I am really touched.
ReplyDeleteThat baby is getting SO big. I too am a firm believer in the family bed. It saved my sanity on many occasions.
You don't have to send me anything, really...I should send YOU something...LOL
I will defintiely post about this tomorrow.
Thanks Girl and I love you too!!! Kiss those little piggies for me!!
About the co-not-sleeping thing? Well, when we moved down to this bayou to a place we could own in no time, the sacrifice we made was ONE BEDROOM and 7 people! So, hubby, sons 4&5 and I slept on a sleeper sofa for a couple of years. Finally, son 4 was able to get into his own bed. And then just when I thought I had son 5 bed broken, he came wondering back to mine. He is 12 now, and came to my bed just last night because he had (unapproved by me) watched a scary show and was scared. I'm sure he'd deny it to his macho friends, though. I don't mind because he is the last pumpkin and these days are passing quickly. You well know what happens to the male species at the age of 13, right? Yea. You got it.
ReplyDeleteOn the topic of sweets? I am still wondering what it was that you had "curing" for me and were going to mail me way back when!! Sorry if I'm embarrassing you, but I do think we are kindred spirits and you'll either ignore me, explain, or send the dog gone surprise!!! I could use it right about now!!!! No sweets, though!! Thanks for tagging me!

My baby sleeps in bed with me too! She is almost 1 year old. All my family and friends tell me I need to start putting her in her own bed or she will never leave mine..but I dont WANT he to leave mine! I love having her there to snuggle with and give sleepy kisses in the morning...so thanks for validating me! :)
ReplyDeleteLOL!! That's along way from "sleepin single in a double bed!" SLeep oh you don't need any sleep you are already beautiful! The more the merrier! Besides it's good birth control...No offense, that's personal experience talkin!! What was that John Denver song....
ReplyDeleteSounds like a bed full to me! Oh it is so hard when they are little..but then mine turned into little kickers, just like little fighters they were at night. I made a rule..(I just make um up as I went) I will snuggle and read at bedtime..if you get frightened come wake me up and I will come snuggle again til you are asleep. That broke the wanting to crawl in bed with Mom and Dad cycle:)
ReplyDeleteThere was no co-sleeping in my house, hippie or otherwise. I'm very, very cranky if I don't get a good night's sleep and I think the entire family agreed that they didn't want a cranky wife/mother.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tag. I'm going to dig through my thousands and thousands (literally!!!) photographs for a spooky one.
- Suzanne, the Farmer's Wife
Your so cute and that Milk dud is filling out nicely! Those are some cheeks on the little guy. I couldn't sleep like that, and um as for birth control are you serious? You got a barn. I really had to laugh you are so funny, hippies get blamed for everything!
ReplyDeleteMy kids all sleep in their own beds. :( They used to come into mine when they had nightmares, but they've all outgrown it.
ReplyDeleteYou sure have handsome sons! Once upon a time I wanted six boys. I outgrew it, though.
Thanks for popping by my blog! Frank says hello!
just Bo in the bed right now unless someone has a bad nightmare and even then they usually end up back in their own bed
ReplyDeleteThey all, but MD, start out in thier own beds... but never stay for long. :)
ReplyDeleteOnly a mother can love feet in her face.
ReplyDeleteI just found your site. Very cute!

ReplyDeleteYou have very beautiful kids and pictures that will be treasured. On the topic of Co-sleeping, don't have anything against that. I think it brings closeness and yes I have to agree it is a great birth control, lol
