See, he's a very gracious host - he treated them just like family. He wanted to make them feel so comfortable that he even stripped to his undies and did his Water Welcome dance for them... I got great kids don't I? Big Son joined him of course and well, the picture perfect family fell apart right before the eyes of our guests... but they were gracious and didn't flinch..... I swore I saw them drinking on the way out of the driveway - I am sure their nerves were a complete frazzled mess..... glad they were not driving to Montana from here!!
Now to be serious - what a wonderful couple. I cant wait for their return trip and wish they could visit us weekly. Trout is great fella and Schnitzel - she is one of the sweetest woman I have ever met - truly!
This was take at our farm and that short German lady on the right is my mother in law - Betty. She is as much fun as she looks, if she couldn't laugh she choke to death. Schnitzel is next, then my hunk of burning love, I, I, I mean the Milk Man then the Trout... he's a keeper too! Ya know what I loved the most about his couple... I hope you guys don't mind me saying this out loud to the world but here it goes... They have been married for 40+ years and you can see that they are still VERY MUCH IN LOVE with one another. I hope that the Milk Man and I can be that way when we are at that stage of life. We miss you guys already and Milk Man said that on your way back from Montana - ya better stop back!!
NOW, before I close I have a couple of things I MUST show you. One of my favorite people sent me something that was made by another favorite person of mine..... isn't this gorgeous???
Karen from Fresh Fixins had this sent to me and Suzanne, the farmers wife made it and sent it. You guys are to much!! It is beautiful and I LOVE IT... so does the Milk Man - that apron and my red heels are now is favorite outfit for me.... did I just say that out loud.... sorry granny.... bleach your minds eye if you cant handle it...
AND - when S & T came she brought me these....
She made the dish towel and the cookbook is from her family - what thoughtful gifts. Milk Man was only disappointed that I couldn't wear the dish towel like I could the apron - then he said maybe I could just hold it up in front of me.... He's thoughtful like that...
Love to you all... Karen, an extra thank you to you. I don't think you realize how much your friendship means to me. When I have a downer day - something usually comes in the mail from you that makes it all better - for me and the boys.
Gotta run - Milk Man just called and needs help with cutting some brush along one of the fields.. and away we go!
Will you adopt me? I love you and your family.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome visit!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the kids..hehehe... Our guys have Way Too Much In Common!! ;) At least we are keeping SOME clothes on them this year! HA~
The red heels huh? .... Gonna have to not think about that one. There's just some things that ya don't really need to think about at times! (I AM KIDDING!!)
Love yas, and squeeze them babies from their long-distance Auntie!
They sound like a wonderful couple, never can have too many wonderful people in your life... Glad you had a great weekend...
ReplyDeleteOh Heidi..bless your little heart! Such wonderful compliments but I don't think we are that deserving. I think the Norwegian, German and that other country backgrounds,(ha ha) make us very compatible. I also feel I already knew your family so well from reading your blog everyday. Enjoy all your boys...all 5 of them. They are so beautiful and well-mannered. I mean, when even Lispy came to shake our hands--we were very impressed. Love you!
ReplyDeleteYou are a hoot! Glad you had a nice visit! it seems to me your boys are very welcoming indeed, they treat your guest just like family! Can't get any better than that!!!

ReplyDeleteAw! Such pretty things :) I especially love the apron. But I have a confession.. I have never owned an apron, lol... They are expensive so I just wear old T shirts when I cook. They work great but I am not a pleasent sight in the kitchen *hehe*
ReplyDeleteKaren is great! She stops by almost every blog I post, and is a great writer also :)
What wonderful presents. It sounds like you had a delightful visit. Sometimes people just "click" and the good thing about making friends on-line is that (if everyone has been up front) you know if you'll get along before you actually meet. What is growing behind Big Son in the picture with him and Lispy playing in the water?
ReplyDeleteBIG SON has a future in modeling! modeling how to be a good son and a great sport! Just how far away are you anyway?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun visit! Hope everything is going well for you.
ReplyDeletehow lovely for you!!!!! getting to know more nice people, and gifties, and a water dance in undies too! wow, doesn't get much better than that huh?
