bread baking...

Well, I am putting together the bread baking tutorial - however I have to finish folding 5 loads of laundry that I just didnt do yesterday...... I have insomnia, at least I think I do... I am not able to sleep for more than a couple of hours. That is not new, its been 10 1/2 years like that but now I am waking up and not being able to get back to sleep for at least another hour. it truley sucks... SO, I dont know what to do - I tried a weeeeeeee bit of the cough syrup, nothin.... and thats NOT because I drink often so I am used to it. I dont drink, period.

I just looked out the window and realized that I have Christmas lights on the 2 of the fruit trees still....good grief - I need to get those off and put away.

So where is this post going - who knows! Sure I dont! BUT - I will be putting up the bread post in a little while. Milk Man is needing help picking rock today, that is if is doesnt rain to hard - SO who's up for a little manual labor!??! any takers?!?! *crickets chirp loudly* thats what I thought. Well, I have to feed the Milk Dud. He woke up an hour ago and has only eaten chocolate chips that were on his tray from last night... yes they were clean! I fell to an all time low yesterday wanna hear about it.. I'll tell you if you really want to know what I did....

later mater... Like Ta- mater without the Ta....

  3. I just love visiting here! I can see in my mind how crazy things must be at your house sometimes and I am glad I am not the only one. Wish I had your calmness and sense of humor. Can't wait for your bread recipe. Try drinking Chamomile tea.

  4. You guys are great - when I said an all time low - I ment I did somthing horrible as a mother.. not feeling low, well not THAT low...

My all time low is - I fed Milk Dud ramen noodles for dinner... *hides face in shame* I dont cook like Gordon Ramsey, but the poor kid got ramen noodle for his whole meal - this morning - chocolate chips.... its pathetic really.... LOL

  5. What's wrong with Ramen noodles? Hey, he's ingesting it and not complaining, right? :^)
How 'bout just opening a can of spagetti-o's and giving him a spoon? NO I DID NOT DO THAT, but my sister's friend did! I thought she was a horrible mother until I became a mother myself. Don't feel bad, it happens to all of us! You can make up for it later...

Looking forward to the bread tutorial. I haven't mastered that particular talent yet, but I KNOW with your expert tuting (tutoring) we'll all become pros!

  6. Do you mean it's bad to feed your kids ramen noodles for supper? What about cereal?

  7. Heidi, honey, sweet sweet sister, please. My husband CAN cook like Gordon Ramsey (or better...hehehe) and what does our youngest child prefer to eat? Kraft Mac & Cheese. The oldest will eat darn near anything- if it is not nailed down and does not bite him first, that boy will eat it. Wrecking Crew? Not so much. He thinks veggies are horrible things devised for torture. (Except for taters- he loves taters.) He thinks that healthy food is pure insanity, and that it is all going to Get Him.

Plunk some Ramen noodles in front of him though, and he is in hog heaven.

Ah well.... it's all good! And chocolate chips for breakfast are great! Just means he can eat his steak and eggs later on!

Manual labor? I have enough of that thanks! Between the pea patch, the taters, the paddocks, the kids... and now helping Mom steam clean her house again.... I think picking rocks is going to have to fall to you guys for today! (Sorry babe!)

Squeeze those babies from me!!! Mucho loves to yas all!

  9. nothing wrong with ramen noodles for supper or some chocolate chips for breakfast...Mmm! Can I join him? LOL with your not sleeping, have you had your thyroid level checked?

  10. Krueth - they have tested my thyroid to the point that I think I am a glorified pin cushion...there is somthing wrong with it, but they wont medicate until they catch it in a 'storm' of sorts I guess... sucks hocky pucks man... I go from insomnia to, snoozathon in a matter of hours.... BUT - I just try to caffine up more (cant be good for a person) and go from there... Thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate ya'll lookin out for me!!

  11. Don't feel bad about ramen noodles ... if it wasn't (weren't?) for ramen noodles, my kids never would have survived their teens! Offered them all kinds of good food, they preferred noodles. And chocolate chips for breaky? What's wrong with that? Chocolate is an essential food group! As for rock picking, sorry Heidi, no. Last time I picked rocks ... let's just say my youngest child arrived 9 months later!

  12. Hi! Just got your comment and for some reason my blog won't let me reply...soooo I came on over your way. :)
The milk dud ramen noodles made me laugh out loud! Sometimes us moms are just so tired that it's anything goes. Hang in there!!! Before you know it they will be calling about their children and how busy they are...then you can sit back and giggle. :)

  13. I agree, nothing wrong with the noodles, my kids loved them and they are strong healthy parents themselves and feed um to their kids. LOL.

Sounds like the thyroid, hyper huh? I am hypo and can't seem to get enough sleep at times. Try some melation, check your health food store, or even Wally mart. All natural, it is what your brain may not be creating itself. Oh one more thing, check out About.com for a good site on thyroid.

Rocks, we pick them around here, too, make nice garden borders and fireplaces. We have real pretty ones, pinks, greens, well just alot of pretty ones.

  14. drinking caffeine during the day can keep you up at night. Have your coffee in the morning and then call it quits. If your tired rest. After a few days of caffeine withdrawals and the big headache you'll feel better. You are too young for all that trouble get that crap out of your system! As hard as you work I'd think you would fall out. Benadryl will make you sleepy if your desperate.
I have a friend who is a vegan and her baby is living off of avocados and ground up sesame seeds. She always thinks that everything causes yeast so he doesn't even get bananas. I feel more sorry for him than for the Dud. At least he is a fat and healthy beautiful boy!
Ramen and a little chocolate aren't going to hurt him.

  16. I think you are worrying too much! I used to be like that. Awright....I didn't! But I read about someone who did.
Fresh bread! Mmmmmm. Yes please! Can't comment on ramen noodles as I've never heard of 'em BUT.....look after Mr Milkman. OK? The good lady is just cooking her brill home-made Shepherd's Pie for our din!! Mmmm.

  17. Nothing wrong with ramen noodles! It's even better if you throw in a small handful of frozen veggies while you're boiling them up--carrots, green beans, lima beans, peas, and/or corn. Less guilt! I also get the baggies of cooked chicken breast from Costco (you probably have Sam's club--same thing) that you can throw in, too. Very easy, and still healthy. Chocolate chips...I'd stick a frozen waffle under it, but don't worry--as long as he doesn't eat that way every day, he'll grow up healthy and well balanced. (Unlike that vegan that Karen Deborah mentioned that's not feeding her kid bananas for fear of yeast should be reported to CPS.)

  18. You actually cook your ramen noodles?? ROFL. I prefer mine with butter and then I save the little packet for soup. MMMMMM. We picked rock the other day, and that worked good until Big brother nailed little sister on the nose with a big rock and gave her a bruise. Thought we would have to call for backup, but that too passed. Then we made chocolate chip cookies and that made us all better. It was before noon, so, yeah, chocolate chips for bkfst is fine. Long as you give em milk too...
